Brushline

A website template for a residential painting and decorating firm with a crew

Two colours meeting on a wall do not meet on a straight line. Brushline is built on that: every band change on the page is a rolled curve, drawn once and used the right way up at the fold and upside down at the foot of every page. It is the one thing a visitor describes afterwards, and it is the reason this template does not read as a stack of boxes.

Who Brushline is for

Built for these, and tested against them.

  • A painting and decorating firm with a crew, selling residential work to homeowners
  • Trades whose customers want to see finished rooms before they call
  • Anyone who quotes after a visit rather than publishing a price list
  • A business with named staff worth introducing, not an anonymous contact form
  • Interior, exterior, furniture or specialist finish work — anything sold room by room

About This Template

The edge a roller leaves

Built for a firm with a crew

The about page names three people with their roles and links each to a profile, and the process section walks a homeowner through consultation, preparation and completion. That is the difference between this and a one-person handyman site: the questions a family asks before letting four strangers into their house for a week are answered before they have to ask.

The work has to be seen

Recent projects is a five-tile mosaic in two bands, and no two tiles are the same width — because a grid of equal squares reads as a catalogue and a room does not. The service cards sit at three different heights rather than level, so the eye crosses the row instead of scanning it.

One conversion, everywhere

There is one action on this site and every button on every page performs it: ask for a free quote. The header carries it, each service carries it, and the closing band carries it under a photograph of someone actually painting. Nothing else competes with it — no newsletter, no booking engine, no price list, because a paint job is quoted after somebody has seen the room.

When to pick something else

Brushline is the wrong template for these. Where there is a better one, it is linked.

  • Large commercial or civil contractor bidding tenders — try Ironclad
  • One-person handyman with no crew and no gallery — try Mainstay
  • High-craft bespoke joinery or heritage renovation — try Gable
  • Appointment-booking service with a calendar — try Riverbend or Lotus
  • Product catalogue with checkout — try Stockroom or Counter
  • Architecture or design studio selling drawings rather than labour — try Whitford

Key Highlights

The whole site closes on one action: a free quote, from every page
A project mosaic that makes five photographs look like a portfolio rather than a grid
A process section that answers what a week of decorators in the house actually looks like
Named crew with roles, so a homeowner knows who is turning up
Curved band edges the rest of the catalog does not have — it will not look like the template next door

Questions about Brushline

Can I change how Brushline looks?

All of it. Colours, type, spacing, photographs and every word are yours to edit — in the visual editor, or by asking an AI agent to do it for you. Nothing is locked.

Do I need to know how to code to use Brushline?

No. You edit the page by clicking the thing you want to change. There is no code to write and nothing to install.

What does Brushline cost?

Nothing to start, and there is no trial clock. A free site runs on a sitelas.com address; Pro is $9 a month per site when you want your own domain, analytics and more room.

Can I use my own domain?

Yes, on Pro. Point your domain at the site and SSL is issued automatically — there is no certificate to buy or renew.

Foundry

Utilitarian-trustworthy industrial services GROUP template — an umbrella brand over N specialist divisions. Harlan Industrial Group persona. Deep petrol green + hi-vis lime, Oswald condensed on IBM Plex Sans with IBM Plex Mono spec codes. The signature structure is a collection-driven DIVISION REGISTER: full-width numbered rows (petrol code chip, division name, one-line tagline, sector pills, arrow) that scale from 3 divisions to 12 with zero structural edits and no per-division photography. Certifications are a first-class section, not an afterthought. Multi-page (Home / Divisions / Group / Contact) plus a per-division detail page at /divisions/<slug>.

Gable template

Gable

Residential renovation contractor template. Spectral contemporary slab-serif display + Inter body, cool slate blue with oxidized rust accent on warm bone — craftsmanship-forward without rustic cliché. Introduces the before/after project-portfolio pattern: projects are a content collection, so the same six starter jobs drive the featured pair on the home page, the index on /work and a page of their own. Small-caps metadata strips (year · size · scope · duration · neighborhood). No commerce. Quote-intake contact form instead of booking. Generalizes across the trades-with-portfolio archetype: general contractors, custom home builders, remodelers, interior designers, landscape architects, millwork and cabinetry shops.

Hatch template

Hatch

Company careers page for funded tech / AI startups (Series A–C, 20–80 person teams). Deep slate navy + warm cream + coral accent, Fraunces serif on Inter — modern-tech-company register that reads as confident-but-human. Three pages plus role-detail (collection-driven): Home / Open roles / Life at Hatch / per-role detail with apply form. Conversion is candidate application (formType `application`, submissions land in your inbox, with optional webhook forwarding). Distinct from `whitford` (law firm authority-formal) and `flagship` (agency / B2B sell) — this is a hiring page, not a sales page or a recruiting agency.
