Every colour, word and photograph — in the editor or by asking an AI agent

Build Cornice by asking your AI agent

No editor required. The agent writes your copy, swaps the photos and publishes the site.

  1. 1Connect Sitelas to Claude, ChatGPT or another AI agent that supports MCP. How to connect
  2. 2Ask for it in plain words: “Build a website for a brand, web and film studio with a showreel to play using the Cornice template.”
  3. 3Open the preview link it sends back, ask for changes, and publish when it reads right.

Then keep changing it from the same chat

  • Rewrite the copy“Rewrite every page in a warmer, friendlier voice.”
  • Change the design“Make the colours earthier and use a serif for headings.”
  • Add or remove pages“Add a Pricing page and remove the Blog.”
  • Rearrange sections“Move the testimonials higher and add an FAQ.”
  • Swap the photos“Replace the photos with ones that fit my business.”
  • Run the site“Show me this week's form messages, then publish.”

Everything here can also be done by hand in the visual editor.

About the Cornice template

Built for a small brand, web and film studio

Cornice suits a creative agency of a handful of people that sells identity, websites, photography and short film to growing companies, and wants a friendly, polished site that shows the work first and makes it easy to start a conversation.

What's on the site

  • Home — the studio reel, a before and after slider, a mosaic of five projects, four services, client quotes, three news posts and a closing call to start a project
  • About — an introduction, three service cards, the team with names and roles, the reel again and photos of the studio
  • Work — every project as a tile, each opening its own case page with the brief, what you did and three results
  • News — a featured post, the rest of the posts and a newsletter sign-up
  • Contact — your two studio addresses and a project enquiry form

Keeping it current

Projects and posts are collections: add one in the editor or ask your AI agent and it gets its own page; the order you set decides which five fill the home mosaic. Enquiries and newsletter sign-ups land in your Sitelas inbox; you send the newsletter yourself. There is no shop or client login.

When to pick something else

Cornice is the wrong template for these. Where there is a better one, it is linked.

  • Agency whose buyer wants dated engagements with measured results in a record — try Daybook
  • Minimal agency site in a serif-and-grotesk register with no journal — try Tessel
  • Dark, dramatic one-page agency brochure — try Flagship
  • Brand identity studio sold purely on imagery and mood — try Obsidian
  • Translation, legal or certification agency selling credentials and documents — try Whitford or Lodestone
  • Solo freelancer or agency-of-one — try Park or Dossier
  • SaaS or app marketing site — try Nimbus, Slate or Reed
  • Ecommerce

Questions about Cornice

Can visitors watch our showreel on the site?

Yes. The play buttons on the home and About pages open your video over the page. Swap the sample clip for a link to your own video file, or a YouTube or Vimeo link.

Can we post studio news and articles?

Yes. News is a collection: each post gets its own page, the first three in your chosen order appear on the home page, and the News page lists the rest beside a newsletter sign-up. Sign-ups arrive in your Sitelas inbox; you send the letter from your own email tool.

Who is Cornice for?

Cornice is built for a brand, web and film studio with a showreel to play, a creative agency that posts studio news and articles and a design studio with offices in two cities. Not built for agency whose buyer wants dated engagements with measured results in a record — try Daybook instead.

What pages come with Cornice?

5 pages, already written and laid out: Home, About, Work, News and Contact. Add, rename or remove pages whenever you like.

Can Claude or ChatGPT build my site from Cornice?

Yes. Connect Sitelas to your AI agent and ask for a site that uses Cornice. It fills in your details, sends you a preview link, and publishes when you approve. The same chat can keep running the site afterwards.

Can I change Cornice without code?

Yes. Click any text, photo or colour to change it in the visual editor, or ask your AI agent to make the change. Nothing is locked.

What does it cost?

Nothing to start, with no trial clock. A free site runs on a sitelas.com address; Pro is $9 a month per site ($90 a year) for your own domain, analytics and more room.

Can I use my own domain?

Yes, on Pro. Point your domain at the site and the SSL certificate is issued and renewed for you.
