Build Your First Website in 5 Minutes with AI

Two paths from idea to live site — Claude.ai's connector or Sitelas's in-editor chat. Pick the one matching where you already work.

There are two ways to build a Sitelas site. Pick the one that matches where you already work — Claude.ai, or the Sitelas editor.

Path A: Build from inside Claude.ai

If you already use Claude for chat, this is the fastest path. The Sitelas connector gives Claude the full set of build-and-run verbs — pick a template, customize it, publish it — all in conversation. Zero Sitelas AI credits are charged on this path; Anthropic bills the Claude tokens via your existing claude.ai subscription.

  1. Add Sitelas from Claude's connector directory — one click. Sign in when prompted.
  2. On Claude Code or Claude Desktop, which read a config file instead, use https://sitelas.com/api/mcp.
  3. In any Claude chat: "Build a bakery site for Midnight Oven, Brooklyn — sourdough and coffee. Warm palette."
  4. Claude picks a hand-tuned archetype, clones it, customizes copy and images, and returns a preview URL. ~60 seconds.
  5. When you're happy: "Publish it." Live at midnight-oven.sitelas.com.

Path B: Build from the Sitelas editor

If you'd rather click around, the editor at yourname.sitelas.com/edit ships with the same MCP tool set, this time driven by Gemini 2.5 Pro. The editor chat runs on AI credits: Pro includes $10 a month, and any account can top up.

  1. Pick a template from the gallery.
  2. Open the AI panel in the sidebar.
  3. Type what you want changed: "Make the hero dark with warm earth tones", "Add a testimonials section with 3 cards", "Clone https://linear.app".
  4. Every change is undoable. Iterate until it's right.
  5. Hit Publish.

What you can do after the site is live

From the connector, day-to-day operations are chat turns:

  • "Anyone contact me this week?" — Claude reads submissions, drafts replies.
  • "How's traffic been?" — Claude pulls pageviews, top paths, top referrers.
  • "Publish a 'closed Thursday' banner next Wednesday at 9am." — Claude schedules the update.
  • "Clone the layout of ra.co for my events page." — Claude captures the URL and composes a replica.

Free vs Pro

  • Free — up to 3 sites per account on you.sitelas.com, unlimited form submissions, the Claude.ai connector, integration primitives (Stripe Payment Link, Calendly). The editor's own AI chat runs on credits (included with Pro, or top up); driving the site from your own agent costs no Sitelas credits.
  • Pro — $9/mo per site — everything free plus custom domain with auto SSL and the full analytics dashboard.

Check the Site Before You Publish It

A site built from a ready-made design starts with somebody else's name, email and products inside it — and the leftovers hide in the places a page-by-page rewrite never reaches. Here is the sentence to say before you publish, and what it actually found on two real sites.

Build and Run a Website From Cursor, VS Code, or Gemini CLI

Sitelas is a connector, not an app — so the agent already in your editor can build your site and then keep running it. Here is the config for Cursor, VS Code, Gemini CLI and Claude Code, the first sentence to say, and the real site an agent built through it.

Add Sitelas to Claude in One Click — Then Say This First

Sitelas is now in Claude's connector directory, so installing it takes one click. The hard part is knowing what to say next — here is the exact first sentence, and the real site Claude built when I said it.
