Scholar

A website template for a phD student homepage

Scholar is a single-page homepage for a working researcher: a flat navy banner with your name, an identity rail, your publication record, your awards, and a way to reach you. Anchor navigation moves between them; there is no second page to maintain.

About This Template

Everything on one page

Publications are a collection, not page content

Every paper is a row you edit — title, author list, venue, year, status, and links. Adding next year's paper is a content edit, not a layout edit. Entries group themselves under Submitted and Published from their status field, and the Paper and Code links only appear on the entries that have them.

Set like a document

Newsreader for what you read, IBM Plex Sans for what you scan, and a claret accent kept to links and one button. Your name is the only display type on the page.

When to pick something else

Scholar is the wrong template for these. Where there is a better one, it is linked.

  • Multi-page CV — try Tenure
  • Academic blog — try Folio
  • Industry resume — try Vitae
  • Marketing

Questions about Scholar

Can I change how Scholar looks?

All of it. Colours, type, spacing, photographs and every word are yours to edit — in the visual editor, or by asking an AI agent to do it for you. Nothing is locked.

Do I need to know how to code to use Scholar?

No. You edit the page by clicking the thing you want to change. There is no code to write and nothing to install.

Can I add more publication entries later?

Yes — that is what the publication collection is for. Adding one from the editor creates its own page at /publications/ and updates the index automatically. You are not editing a list by hand.

What does Scholar cost?

Nothing to start, and there is no trial clock. A free site runs on a sitelas.com address; Pro is $9 a month per site when you want your own domain, analytics and more room.

Can I use my own domain?

Yes, on Pro. Point your domain at the site and SSL is issued automatically — there is no certificate to buy or renew.

Make Scholar yours

It opens in the editor with every page already written. Change what you want, publish when it reads like you.
